The very first band I saw during CMJ 2005 - Chinese Stars were the perfect way to start. It was the middle of the day but the band looked like they'd been partying non-stop since the night before and was definitely ready to rock. The vocalist Eric spat snarling, pissed-off vocals at the crowd of hipsters and industry types while the band matched him with their totally unique jerky dance punk. I'm looking forward to seeing these guys again.
