06-02 Knife Crazy @ Trash Bar
When Buffalo's Knife Crazy took the stage in the dark back room of Williamsburg's Trash Bar I had no idea of the explosion of sound I was in for. The band played an absolutely incredible set with a relentless energy that song by song won over the small but enthusiastic Brooklyn crowd. The band played with such energy the two singer/guitarists jumping, spinning and swinging their guitars so hard that it seemed at any moment they might fly right off the stage and into the front row. Odds are though that Knife Crazy would have kept blasting away without missing a beat. Their sound was mostly on the more industrial side of post-punk somewhere between Fugazi and Primus with some throat shredding vocal harmonies, and sweet lead guitar runs thrown into the mix.
