09-27 Sigmund Droid @ Death Disco
Headlining the night at rock legend BP Fallon's weekly Death Disco party was local up & comers Sigmund Droid. The Brooklyn drum & bass duo is quickly gaining a reputation around the city for it's awesome live shows & catchy songs. Vocalist / bassist Solomon and Pablo on drums displayed a pretty wide range during the set with the songs shifting from dance-influenced electro "Psychic Healer" to snotty Brit-punk "Liverpool Sluts" and even a few slow tunes thrown in. Overall there wasn't a dud in the set and by the end the after-hours crowd at the Annex was cheering for more. Sigmund Droid have the chops to appeal to any lovers of indie or electro rock.
Interestingly, Sigmund Droid have a song called "Sigmund Droid". I love it when bands do this - every good group should have it's own theme song. So I'm putting the challenge out there: If you're in a band and you're reading this, your band needs a theme song - so write one! Bet it's not as easy to write your own "Bad Company" as you might think.
