Santo Gold
Any M.I.A. fans out there should do themselves a favor and head over to Santo Gold’s MySpace - the ladies blew the roof off the Fader jam with a set of sing along rhymes & electro-hop beats. Judging by the crowd response, expect to hear more soon from Santo Gold.
I-Wayne
Few things get the crowd going like Reggae and a surprise set by Dancehall I-Wayne to promote his new "Book of Life" album did just the trick. I-Wayne avoids the bang bang drama of slack dancehall in favor of a rootsier sound and the ladies were lovin’ it.
Cool Kids
What's up with cutting a group's set to 10 minutes because the "Surprise Guest" is late (Surprise Guest = I-Wayne)? It did turn out okay since the Cool Kids new School/ ol' skool hip-hop works pretty well in short blasts, but 10 minutes? C'mon!
White Williams
NYC's White Williams was all business when he hit the stage demanding the lights & sound in the room be just right to fit the vibe of his electro-pop jams. Backed by two musicians he ripped through a solid selection of tunes with "New Violence" in particular being the standout. White Williams & Co. head out on the road with Battles in November so don't miss that.
