The packed crowd at the Canal Room in Chinatown were grooving along Friday night as The Harlem Shakes came through with another set of smooth indie-pop in celebration of the release of their new EP "Burning Birthdays". The Shakes have been tearin' it up live lately and getting some great reviews. Next up for the band is a tour of the south so definitely check them out when their in your area.

the Harlem Shakes ripped it up again in the basement or Park Slope bocce palace Union Hall. The Band’s less guitar heavy sound covers a pretty wide range and positively differentiates them from the pack of other bands attempting a similar style. Another band to watch for in ’07.

Closing out a full night of excellent music Brooklyn party rockers the Harlem Shakes wasted no time setting the room on fire with their fun blend of dancey indie-pop & 60’s tinged garage soul. the Harlem Shakes should appeal to fans of melodic indie (i.e Voxtrot, the Redwalls, etc.) .
