I made a point of arriving early for this show because I had heard the openers were good and I wasn't disappointed - Tight Phantomz kicked ass! They played with total raw power, passion & energy. The songs mostly mixed classic 70s hard influences with some subtle new twists.

Definitely a group to keep an eye on…

This was easily one of the best shows of the year. Bear vs. Shark were totally into it and the crowd was going bananas (I shot most of the from this middle of a pretty insane mosh pit). I had enjoyed their album "Terrrorhawk" but live they take it to another level. And extra props to Mark and the band for fending off security so the kids could dance.

Can't wait to see these guys again.

All three parts of this trio are solid & these guys tap into the great grimey/grungy/garagey raw sounds that I love - I'm looking forward to hearing the album.

I'd heard good buzz on Apollo Heights so I gambled my upper register hearing (the PA system at Scenic is insane) and checked them out. Good thing because I'm feelin' the indie rock - soul sound of this stylish new band. Frontman Daniel’s got great vocals and is backed by a tight band that gained a confident momentum as they became lost in their music. By the end the small LES crowd was swaying along in agreement. If you’re into indie-rock, hip-hop, or soul this is definitely a band to check out.

I hadn't heard of Shy Child before this show but they definitely impressed. Excellent tunes & a mesmerizing performance. I'm looking forward to hearing the album.
