When I heard Radiohead picked the Black Keys to open for them I respected the megaband a little bit more because I’ve thought the Akron Soul-Rock duo has been one of the best bands around since I first heard them a few years ago. Their last full length album Rubber Factory is one of the only albums of the last couple of years I can sit down and listen to from beginning to end without reaching for the fast forward button. Following up their excellent “Chulahoma” EP the bands new LP “Magic Potion” hits stores on September 12.
The band has posted a sneak preview of new tracks from the
album here.
The first time I caught these guys was back in 2002 at Maxwells in Hoboken with Stellastarr* now it’s the Garden with Radiohead – pretty cool!
