Ever since catching them at Pianos a while back, I try to check out Groupsounds shows whenever I can. Unafraid to mix it up with the crowd; they normally get the party going at the bar before hitting the stage, and then when it’s show time – look out. Their songs are non-stop fun Clash/Jam influenced party rock (“Things Fall Apart” will stick in your head instantly), they aren’t afraid to demand that you dance (but you probably already will be) and in true Iggy Pop/Libertines style their sets almost always end with the crowd rushing onstage smiling & dancing. At R&R they even got Mike Myers bobbing along in the shadows. If you’re looking for the perfect dance rock party band Groupsounds is it.
