Photos: 07.18 Controlling the Famous @ CBGBs
A friend of me hooked me up with Controlling the Famous’ new cd “Automatic City” at a BBQ I had a few weeks ago and I’d been looking forward to checking them out when they came to the city. The band made the most of the tiny stage in the basement of CB’s Lounge with talented singer / guitar shredders Max Hellmann and Johnny Collins alternately standing on amps & jumping back and forth while delivering a tight set of passionate, emo-influenced rock. These guys are kinda under the radar right now but I was feelin it & judging by the enthusiastic response from the crowd this is definitely a band to keep an eye on.
There’s a good review of the show the next night at Northsix
here
Labels: CBGBs, Controlling the Famous
Was anyone at the Northsix show?
