08-14 Don't be a tool

Nobody loves concert photography more than me. I've been doing it since I was a kid & I think it's cool how the web has made it easier for people who love music to form communities & take control of the media though blogging, poster art, online zines, etc. but particularly concert photography. When you go to any large concert these days, between the camera phones and the point & shoots, there’s a camera everywhere. That's cool as long as you're considerate of the scene & the people around you. The key is to try to be as unobtrusive as possible. What's not cool is bulldozing your way through the crowd with a giant Ansel Adams camera and standing directly in front of people who paid and waited to see the music and then when you're called out for your rudeness trying to pass yourself off as a "Professional Photographer" (as some jerk did to me last night at the DPT's show).

There's etiquette to this folks!

ok, that's my fist shaking rant for today. Back to the music...

I hate dudes like that. Show some respect and be discrete i say.
