08-11 Tall Hands @ Pianos

True story: A while back I was on a small jet from Texas with Tall Hands flying through an electrical storm when suddenly the plane dropped in the air. People started screaming & praying, drinks spilled everywhere, even the flight attendants looked freaked out - I was pretty sure I was going to die. Finally after about about 20 seconds that felt like 2 minutes the plane straightened out. The pilot blamed the whole thing on the storm. When I saw the guys after the flight we all swore off the shady airline.
Returning from a brief hiatus, the New York indie-rock sextet (formerly known as the Kites) played a short but sweet set for the late night crowd at lower east side hipster palace Pianos. The bands got a catchy, piano driven sound that reminded me of "Kill the Moonlight" era Spoon a bit. They've got a new EP scheduled to "drop" in October:
Upcoming Dates for Tall Hands
Sept. 1 2006 Mercury Lounge w/La Laque NYC
Sept. 28 2006 12:00A @ The Annex (Stolen Transmission Party) NYC
