11.22 the Hold Steady @ Warsaw

I went to Hold Steady Show and an AC/DC concert broke out…

Charismatic Hold Steady ringleader Craig Finn is often more of a Hip-Hop style MC live than a traditional rock frontman darting back and forth across the stage guitar in one hand, mic in the other dropping insightful, impassioned lines about addiction, alienation, loss of innocence and redemption in middle America as ace guitarist Tad Kubler shreds away between the verses (occasionally on a sweet double necked Gibson). Meanwhile, the powerhouse Hold Steady rhythm section of Franz Nicolay (keyboards), Galen Polivka (bass guitar) & Bobby Drake (drums) keeps the crowd stomping and screaming for more. The crowd was absolutely nuts and partied along with the band through the whole set list which consisted of the cream of the crop from three quality albums worth of material.

If you’re looking for a cathartic, pure rock n’ roll experience, catch Brooklyn’s the Hold Steady when they come your way.
