The singer's got energy and a good voice but all the songs sounded pretty much the same and any band with a guitarist wearing an "El Douche" T-Shirt needs to take it back to the lab.

This young band played with tons of energy. A fun way to start siren fest day. It was cool to hear these guys were opening for the Constantines not just because its a great line-up - but every time I see the Oxford Collapse the rooms are only half-full. People are definitely sleeping because they’re one of the best bands in town. It was standing room only tonight – Southpaw was packed, and the guys definitely stepped up and hit a home run. By the end the crowd was cheering for more. These guys get better every time. Full disclosure - I've pretty much been a Constantines junkie ever since I first caught them at Brownies a few years back. Musically they’re like a mix of Fugazi’s intensity, power and passion with Spoon’s tunefulness & though provoking lyrics. But what really pushes the Constantines over the top is the interplay between their thunderous rhythm section and singer Bryan Webb who has one of the best voices in all of indie rock.. He’s got a soulful rasp somewhere between Waits and Springsteen. I try to catch these every time they're in the city and they just get better every time. The sold out Brooklyn crowd was into the music singing along and shouting out song requests between songs. The band played some older favorites “Young Lions”, “Nighttime Anytime”, etc. but focused mostly on new material. “Hotline Operator” and “Love in Fear” especially stood out as clues the upcoming new album will be another powerhouse. The band seemed to be in good spirits all night and they even ended with a cover of AC/DCs classic "Ride On". Awesome. Moby put on a great show for an enthusiatic Taste of Chicago crowd. He strummed and drummed through all of his hits and two covers Billy Idols' "White Wedding" & Led Zeps' "Whole Lotta Love." The baby boomers in the crowd ate it up. Towards the end he got back to his roots with some pounding house & techno.
