I caught the Even's (Fugazi/Minor Threat legend Ian McKaye & Amy Farina) last Summer at a benefit concert in East River Park and was pretty blown away by the quiet intensity of the duo's sound (melodic, accoustic, punk with a message). In less skilled hands it might come off as preachy or boring but these two pull it off well. The Even's have got two excellent albums out now and the tix are only five bucks so don't miss this one.

I really like those events. that you can go a concert that you don't have to fight against everybody for the best spot. You can enjoy with fewer people and great music.
